The Alabama Automotive Manufacturers Association (AAMA) was formed in 2001 to provide a forum for interaction among automotive companies in Alabama, to share information among its members and to provide an awareness of manufacturing trends, techniques and concerns.
Mission:
Promote growth and continuous improvement of automotive manufacturing in Alabama
Objectives:
- Improve automotive manufacturing processes and systems in Alabama
- Provide strategic direction for workforce development in Alabama
- Conduct programs to share knowledge on issues impacting the automotive industry in Alabama

AAMA Release State's 2007 Auto Industry Survey
Alabama Automotive industry continues to grow. Direct jobs have increased
to 48,457 (+8%) up from 44,834 in 2005.
The number of plants increased to 285 up from 263 in 2005.
Since the first AAMA study was conducted in 2001, Alabama's auto industry
has added 21,545 jobs, an 80 percent increase.

2010 AAMA Manufacturing Scholarships
AAMA has established manufacturing scholarships for individuals pursuing an automotive manufacturing education at two-year colleges in Alabama.

AAMA Membership Requirements
AAMA membership is open only to companies directly involved in the
automotive industry, specifically:
- Companies engaged in the manufacturer of automotive vehicles in Alabama or
bordering states of Tennessee, Mississippi and Georgia.
- Suppliers and distributors of parts to automotive manufacturers and
aftermarket distributors in Alabama that are located in Alabama or
bordering states of Tennessee, Mississippi and Georgia.
- Companies and organizations (in Alabama only with Alabama address) that
have demonstrated experience with manufacturing trends, techniques or
services in the automotive industry.
