Atlantic Tool & Die Alabama Named Outstanding Automotive Supplier

HUNTSVILLE, AL. (February 12, 2009) – Atlantic Tool & Die Alabama (ATD-AL) in Anniston, Alabama has been recognized by the Alabama Automotive Manufacturers Association (AAMA) as the Outstanding 2008 Automotive Supplier in Alabama. A first tier supplier to Honda Manufacturing of Alabama, Atlantic Tool & Die (ATD) manufacturers metal stampings from progressive and transfer dies up to 1200 tons as well as full service assembly including robotic welding.     Brose Tuscaloosa, Inc. Named Outstanding Automotive Supplier

    HUNTSVILLE, AL. (January 25, 2008) – Brose Tuscaloosa, Inc., in Tuscaloosa, Alabama has been recognized by the Alabama Automotive Manufacturers Association (AAMA) as the Outstanding 2007 Automotive Supplier in Alabama. A first tier supplier to Mercedes-Benz U.S. International in Tuscaloosa, Brose manufactures interior door systems, including window regulators, latches and other parts. Brose opened in 2003 and employees 90 associates at its 75,000 square foot plant in Tuscaloosa. Gerardo Rojas is the General Plant Manager at Brose.

    Alabama’s Automotive Manufacturing Industry Continues Growth

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The automotive manufacturing industry in Alabama continues its growth with 48,457 direct automotive jobs in 2007, up from 44,834 jobs in 2005. Since the first AAMA study was conducted in 2001, Alabama's auto industry has added 21,545 jobs, an 80 percent increase.

    Alabama Automotive Manufacturers Association Awards 36 Scholarships

    HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (April 15, 2008) – The Alabama Automotive Manufacturers Association (AAMA) recently awarded $54,000 in scholarships to 36 Alabama students pursuing careers in automotive manufacturing. The scholarship program was created to assist those students working towards a career/technical education certificate or associate degree in designated programs of The Alabama College System, the network of public two-year community and technical colleges. The AAMA scholarships will be available on an annual basis.

    HUNTSVILLE, AL (May 21, 2004) - Alabama automotive industry continues to grow. Directs jobs have increased to 31,197 (+3.4%), up from 30,180 in 2002. The number of plants increased to 207, up from 162 in 2002. 32 plants were new to Alabama. 24 plants were existing plants that now have automotive business.

    Alabama Automotive Group Holds Manufacturing Workshop

(September 12, 2001) - Toyota manufacturing executive Mike DaPrile will be the keynote speaker at the first workshop sponsored by the newly formed Alabama Automotive Manufacturers Association (AAMA). DaPrile is a vice president of manufacturing for Toyota's manufacturing plant in Kentucky. His responsibilities include quality control, quality engineering and plant safety. Also, he is the director for implementation of new vehicle models.
